HS Coach Evaluation:
I have coached David Gow for 2 years at the varsity level at St Charles North High School.  SCN competes in a very strong Conference called the Upstate Eight.  David played a large role this spring when his team went 34-5 and won Conference and Regional Championships in a very strong Chicagoland Region.  In that time, I have seen him develop tremendously both physically and mentally on the baseball field!
Defensively, David possesses the unique ability to play both the IF and OF.  David's natural position is 2B, but his speed, agility and baseball IQ allows him the flexibility to take correct angles and make plays in the OF as well.  He has quick, agile feet which allow him to move very well laterally thus creating a large ball range.  He gets to balls that most 2B can not.  He has nice, soft hands that stay out in front until ball reaches the glove.  He has a strong arm which allows him to execute every possible play and he turns double plays efficiently and effectively.  Offensively, David is a natural fit to hit at the top of any batting order.  He most often works deep into the count and has a good eye at the plate.  He does draw walks and has a high OBP as a result.  His exceptional speed provides him with a number of offensive skills.  One of these weapons is his bunting ability. David has worked hard on his bunting ability (both drag and push), and he is now a huge threat to bunt for a hit at any time. He also is a tremendous base runner.  He reads pitchers well, gets great jumps, takes proper routes and slides effectively.  He is rarely caught and can steal second or third at any time.  David is a contact hitter that possesses the ability to drive the ball into the gaps.  He can spray the ball to all fields and can occasionally drive a ball out of the park.  He hits for a high average due to his bunting ability, speed, working deep counts, and pitch recognition.  He is an exceptional offensive player!
Lastly, David has a wonderful baseball IQ.  He is the kind of player that is instinctive and sees things happen well in advance.  He is very coachable and a leader both on and off the field!  He works very hard, thus motivating other players around him with his positive habits!  He is a coach's dream and I believe he has the ability to play at the collegiate level next season.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions in regards to David!I can be reached at (630)631-4410.  Thank you for your time and commitment to David Gow's very bright future!

FV Royals Coach Evaluation:  David's greatest asset is his speed.  He has been a top of the lineup 'table setter' for us this summer and will continue to be this spring-- as well as in college.  Has the ability to get on base via good plate discipline; he knows his strengths and utilizes them very well.  Hits the ball to the middle of the field and runs the bases very well--puts pressure on the defense.  Brings an interesting element to the offense with his ability to bunt as well as fake and slap through the infield.  David is a versatile player on defense with the ability to play the middle positions of the infield as well as cover a lot of ground in the outfield with good jumps and above average speed.  Gets good angles on ground balls and gets rid of the ball quickly.
