HS Coach Evaluation: Tyler Lau's greatest attribute is his ability to hit.  Through hard work Tyler has developed into a very good hitter.  He has put in a great deal of time... this past year... into becoming stronger in the weight room and it paid off this Spring.  He has developed into one of our most reliable players at the plate.  Early in the Spring, Tyler hit mostly fastballs, but as the season went on he developed the ability to keep his top half back and developed into a much more complete hitter... hitting both the fastball and the off-speed pitch well.  In the outfield, Tyler has a strong arm that is developing the accuracy necessary for the next level of baseball.  Tyler's outfield skills are improving with each inning he is playing.  He bounce around between infield and outfield this past Spring and has now settled in the outfield to develop those skills as he has developed his offensive skills.  Tyler loves baseball!

FV Royals Coach Evaluation:  Tyler is a solid player who has matured physically a great deal in the last year.  He has the ability to hit for power and has great rhythm & balance while at the plate.  Consistently squares up the ball; LD swing, gap-to-gap.  Has a great attitude and is very coachable, a great teammate.  Tyler has decent speed and takes good angles to balls in the outfield.  Has some athleticism which allows him to play multiple positions (2B/3B).  Is starting to really come into his own with physical maturity and has yet to reach his potential with power at the plate as well as foot speed on the bases and defensively.
