HS Coach Evaluation:
Letter of Reference concerning Michael Mach

As Michael’s varsity baseball coach at Fenton High School, for both the 2008 summer varsity team and the 2009 spring team, I have gotten to know and appreciate Michael Mach’s baseball abilities and his fine character.

I found Michael to be a dedicated, serious baseball player, who continually works hard to improve his playing skills.  He has always taken practices very seriously and has earned the respect of his baseball peers.  And he continually looks for ways to improve his skills, whether it is hitting, pitching fielding or catching.

Michael takes his responsibilities to his team to heart, always giving his fullest to complete assigned duties and tasks.  His baseball skills reflect this hard work ethic, both as a catcher and middle infielder.  At the beginning of the 2009 spring season, Michael was voted team captain by his fellow players and took that responsibility to heart.

He demonstrated true leadership skills as team captain, and was highly respected in that position.

He has developed into an excellent short stop, an all around excellent catcher and has been working on his pitching skills of late, showing a true ability on the mound.

At the conclusion of the 2009 Michael led the team with the highest batting average, highest on-base percentage and highest slugging average.  He also led the team with the most total-bases and number of walks.  He was a true asset to the team, both in hitting and fielding, contributing to the overall team’s ability to complete at the varsity level.

His personality is easy going and gets along well with his peers, while always respecting his elders and coaches.  He is a likeable young man that takes direction well, and has never shown any type of disrespect towards his fellow players or adults.

I have found Michael to be honest and trustworthy, as well as always willing to improve and learn.  His dedicated work ethic will carry him far in life, as he will be successful in whatever endeavor he chooses.

Michael Mach is a true athletic with exceptionally developed baseball skills and a fine young man overall!

FV Royals Coach Evaluation:
Mike is a good baseball player. He played short and caught for us. He is a good left handed bat and a great run producer. On defense, Mike is a great game manager behind the plate. He understands the importance of calling a game and reading hitters. He has average speed for a catcher, but understands how to run the bases. Mike will continue to strengthen his arm, and has great feet on the transfer and throw to second.
